Using a Save The Date announcement card is by far the best way to alert your family and friends to your wedding day. It allows you to let your nearest and dearest dig out their diaries and ring fence the time required to come and help you celebrate your marriage.

At Special Day Direct we have a gorgeous set of Save the Date cards to suit all tastes. It means that you don’t have to think about themes, colours or anything to do with the planning of your wedding until you’ve really started looking.

This might mean that you provisionally book several different venues safe in the knowledge that everybody that you want to come has been reliably informed of when your wedding is going to be. This then allows you the luxury of being able to peruse those venues at your leisure without being rushed into making a hasty decision.

We recently had the pleasure of supplying Strictly Come Dancing’s Katya Virshilas with her Save The Date cards after her engagement to Danish dancer Klaus Kongsdal. She was so pleased that she also ordered her Wedding Invitations from us as well.

Whilst we’re on the subject of celebrities, we’ve had the cream of Hollyoaks getting acquainted with Special Day Direct as well. Gemma Merna (who plays Carmel McQueen in the popular soap) approached us to provide a whole raft of her wedding paraphernalia for her marriage to her fiancé Ian Minton. She’s going to be tweeting all about it so watch this space.

We just wanted to share the celebrity history of our one of our Invitations!

A few years ago our Dutch company was approached by Dutch International Footballer Rafael van der Vaart and his Dutch TV Presenter partner Sylvie to design a special invitation for their wedding.

This was a massive boost for our Dutch company as Rafael and Sylvie are considered the Posh and Becks of Holland!

The result of many design meetings and discussions was the production of our Beau Invitation (567i). After their wedding they allowed us to produce the design commercially and in Holland it was the top selling design for a number of years.

Rafael is of course now at Spurs and Sylvie is a major European celebrity. She is currently the host of the German version of Strictly Come Dancing!

As we have got lots of exciting things happening at the moment we thought this would be a great way to keep you informed.

Talking of exciting things, Special Day Direct was recently chosen by one of the Dancers from Strictly Come Dancing to provide her Stationery for her forthcoming Wedding! Who do you think that could be?

As ever, we have been looking at lots of ideas for new wedding stationery designs, we have companies all over Europe and we often meet to share design ideas and trends. You will not find any cheap American or Far Eastern Stationery on our web site. All our cards are produced in Italy, Holland and the UK.
